Howl's Moving Castle

2004-11-24 Wed. Weather: Sunny Plan: Compensatory Holiday

Today was a compensatory holiday for the Culture Festa yeserday. I went shopping with Signe in Matsue. Christmas is coming soon, so we bought presents and cards for the family. Signe is making a really cool thing, who is it for I wonder? :) While Signe was shopping, I watched Hayao Miyazaki's new movie, "Howl's Moving Castle" at the SATY in Matsue. It was a really great movie. I don't think it was as amazing as "Spirited Away," but it was a really good story. I am definitely am going to buy the DVD when it comes out!

I really want to see the new Miyazaki flick. So it was in Japanese with no subtitles? And you could hang with it? Lucky duck. ;)

I just rented the recent Beat Takeshi film, Zatoichi, the DVD of which had English subtitles so I was OK. Great film - really wacky in parts and some good humor, despite being very bloody (altho all the blood was CGI).

PS - blog article in the new BT so you may get a few more hits in the next few days.

It was an awesome movie, you totally should check it out! I think even without understanding the Japanese that you could enjoy the movie, but like I said I will buy it when the DVD comes out, and it will have subtitles on it.
