Didn't get the job...
天気: 雲～晴 行事: 小田小･赤来中・谷小
今日、好きな小田小学校に行きました。小田小では教え方がとても簡単です、僕のため。小田小の先生方はいつもいい計画があります。その学校は人数少ないので、すごく仲良しです。たくさん歌を歌いました。一番人気な歌は｢ロンドン橋｣です。｢ロンドン橋｣のゲームもしました。4月、合併の背で、小田小学校は閉じてしまいます。かわいそうですねえ。

今日、僕は一日中、忙しそうと感じていました。実はあまり忙しくなかったけれども頭の中でたくさん考えがあってしまいました。多分、意味が知っています。。。ＡＬＴＰＡと言う希望したかった仕事を得ませんでした。県庁は他の人を選びました。それから、今日、教育委員会に様式Ａ－２と言うもう一年間飯南町で働きたい希望書を送りました。この町が好きだけど、その仕事が欲しかった。やむを得ないね。ということは、飯南町教育委員会がもう一年間僕のことが欲しければ、平成18年8月まで飯南町にいます。飯南町、よろしくお願いします！

Today was fun, I went to Oda Elementary School. It is really easy for me to teach at Oda Ele. All the teachers always have such good plans there. It is a small school, so everyone feels close. We sung a lot of songs today. The most popular one was "London Bridge." We also played the "London Bridge" game. In April, Oda Ele. is shutting it's doors for good because of the town merger. It really is sad.

I felt busy all day today, but actually, I wasn't busy at all. My head was filled with all kinds of thoughts. I think I know the reason... I found out I didn't get the ALT PA position I was vying for. Someone else was chosen. So, today I sent in Form A-2 to the Iinan Board of Education indicating that I want to work in Iinan for another year. I like this town, but I did want that job. Oh well, what can you do? That means, If the Iinan Board of Education wants me for another year, I will be here in Iinan until Aug. 2006. Please don't abandon me, Iinan!

To Jason:
I don't know who the new ALT PA is. They are keeping tight-lipped right now. The other two applicants were Camille in Daito, and Will in Kawamoto.
To Mike:
The ALT PA is the Prefectural Advisor to all Assistant Language Teachers in Shimane. They have two main jobs.
Firstly, you are a counsellor to all the ALTs in your prefecture. You answer their qustions, help them with their problems, and act as an official go-between from the ALTs and the contracting orginizations, if need be.
Secondly, you are an event planner. This is the part I was really interested in. You are the main planner for at least three major events during the year: the Prefectural Orientation, the Mid-Year Seminar, and the Welcome Party. You also go to all Tokyo Orientations to greet the new first-year ALTs. You also are in charge of creating pamphelets for the orientations, and sending information about the prefecture to JETs before their arrival in Japan. Among other duties, there are lots.
It is a much busier job than being a human tape recorder, but I would have loved it. Ever since I worked for FanimeCon (http://www.fanime.com/) I have really enjoyed event planning, and the such.
