Violence Against Women

Journal for 2005-12-8 Thu..
Weather: Snowy   Plan: Akagi JHS

Since this is Human Rights Week in Japan I talked about violence against women today in my favorite 9th grade elective English class. I think it is very important to educate everyone about violence against women, it is a worldwide problem. Yet, we don't talk about it in school. We act as if there is no problem at all. The state of women's rights in Japan today is like that of the U.S. in the 1950s. They don't have a large women's rights movement here yet.
