Journal for 2006-7-5 Wed.. Weather: Cloudy Plan: Akagi JHS
I made a play in English for CHESS, the Shimane High School English Camp, this weekend. My group of 6 students have to perform a skit in English, so I wrote one using simple language. The students suppose to think of the skit all by themselves, but it really helps to have a sample skit to work off of. I think it will may them less nervous. This year's theme is a Harry Potter mystery. Hagrid has become evil, what are we going to do!

Today is a holiday in the U.S., but it is just another day in Japan. It is the U.S. Independence Day. The U.S. declared our independence from the U.K. 230 years ago today. Many fireworks will be seen in the sky over the U.S. tonight, but not here. Actually, last weekend we got to see a lot of beautiful fireworks for the Akana-area Mid-summer Festival. Please enjoy the Independence Day "Festivals" for me if you are in the U.S. tonight!

I have a lot planned for this week and next week. I am recording my TV English show tomorrow. The next day I have a town softball tournament to play in. Then on Thursday I have my last visit to Akana Elementary School. Friday to Sunday I will be at CHESS, the English camp. I have an adult English conversation class on the 10th, and from the 10th to the 11th I will be teaching my final classes at Kijima Elementary School. And I still have to prepare for my trip to Thailand. Not to mention the tax paperwork I have to fill out. It's all quite stressful.
