Journal for 2006-11-30 Thu.. Weather: Cloudy Plan: Sakugi JHS
I finished making pair wheels for Sakugi Junior High School this morning. Now whenever we have to do pair work, all we have to do is take out the whell, spin it and assign pairs. That way students are able to pair with others that are not sitting next to them. The other teachers in Sakugi and some people from Hiroshima city came to observe our 7th grade class in 5th period today for Tomomi-sensei's 10th year evaluation. Teachers in Japan are evaluated in their 1st, 3rd, 6th, and 10th years of teaching. All the observers said I was really interesting in class. I was surprised that I wasn't nervous at all!
Journal for 2006-11-28 Tue.. Weather: Rainy Plan: Sakugi JHS
It is always fun going to Sakugi Junior High since it is so small. Today was like any other Tuesday, I taught all the grades and the special ed. class and sat around making teaching materials in my spare time. There was one bad thing that happened though. I went to crouch down and my pants got caught on the edge of a desk and ripped! It's too bad. They were beand new pants I bought here in Japan. I have lost 10 kg since I started the diet I am on, so at least I can finally buy new pants here!
